Our place at The Viking Cup is now CONFIRMED!
Taking place on June 15/16, this is an International Youth Tournament hosted by Spartacus Rugby Club in Partille, Gothenberg.
We plan to take a team bus down on Friday June 14th.
Player accommodation is at the local school, where player food is also served.
Games are played all day Saturday and Sunday.
A trip to Liseberg is an option for Saturday evening.
We will return home on Sunday evening.
The club will pay for the player's administration fees and transport to and from the tournament.
Costs outside of this are estimated to be:
Accommodation: 140kr for 2 nights
Friday Dinner: 70kr (roadside or team BBQ depending on arrival time)
Saturday Breakfast: 50kr (pre-booked)
Saturday Lunch: 55kr (pre-booked)
Saturday Dinner: either 55kr pre-booked or Liseberg 100kr
Saturday Trip to Liseberg (TBC): 245kr entry and åkband (discounted from 485kr)
Sunday Breakfast: 50kr (pre-booked)
Sunday Lunch: 55kr (pre-booked)
Sunday Dinner: 70kr roadside
Snacks, Drinks & Spending money: we will discuss and limit this in advance.
This trip is the 1st Rugby Team Trip for our group of kids, "independent" of their parents.
Having said that, we have no problem at all if some, or all, of you want to come along too!
The coaching team will travel on the team bus with the kids.
If there are any extra spaces, parents may travel on the bus too, but I recommend booking alternative transport as we are sharing the bus with other Exiles teams and may not know exact numbers until it's too late to book anything else affordable!
The coaching team will stay at the school with the kids. The school also has 24hour security.
Those staying in the school will need to bring sleeping bags and sleeping mats/camping mattresses.
Parents can discuss their own accommodation plans and I suggest 1 or 2 of you take charge of this. The team bus will be able to do pick-ups and drop-offs to the parents hotel/pitches.
As we can only enter one team of 9, we unfortunately have to limit the total number of players travelling to 15.
